What hurts the victim most is not the cruelty of the oppressor but the silence of the bystander.

Scott

March 6th, 2007

I’m Scott. I’m 22. I work at a bakery. I go to college (Owensboro Community and Technical College). I eat. I sleep.

I’ve lived in Owensboro for most of my life. I currently live with my mom and step-father. My parents were divorced when I was young. But I’m blessed because my dad didn’t abandon me and I know some aren’t so lucky. I have an older sister who is married and has given me a nephew (and another child on the way!).

I did some work with Youth With A Mission in Tyler, TX for about a year altogether. I just got back from a trip to North Africa.

I have a desire to be a part of a monastic movement in Owensboro: basically a group of Jesus loving friends living together, living life, practically impacting their community.

I grew up in a traditional southern baptist church. My theology is pretty unstable; all of my beliefs have been razed (in the spirit of Descartes). But I’m tending to believe things about God that the traditional church does not.

I enjoy the outdoors, riding my bike, camping, building fires. I like to read and write. I enjoy food (sometimes too much) and sitting around with friends.
