Debbie and I are celebrating our anniversary today! It seems like only yesterday that we met in Bowling Green. We spent most of our first year together, not really together. While each of us were dating someone else, we talked on the phone all night long. We became best friends. What a cool foundation upon which to build a marriage relationship! At the end of our second semester at Western Kentucky University, we each broke up with our steadys and went out together for a raspberry ice cream. From that first date, we were practically inseparable and two years after that, we were married. Now, thirty-four years later, we’re still together . . . and still best friends.

Being a Daddy

Wayne, my son-in-law, is learning about being a daddy. Upon discovering that Jennifer, my daughter, would be going to work during a time that he would be at home, Wayne asks, “What are we going to do with Bobby?” (that’s my 6-month-old grandson). Boy did that bring back some memories! (more…)
